Ten minutes, one spreadsheet
Nothing is installed on your computer. Daiko is a script inside a Google Sheet that you copy into your own Drive — so it can read the mail you already have, and keep working while your laptop is shut.
What you do
- Copy the spreadsheet. One click from your purchase email. It lands in your own Google Drive and is yours from then on.
- Paste one key. A free Google Gemini key, which takes three minutes to create at aistudio.google.com/apikey. The setup sidebar tests it immediately and tells you if it is wrong.
- Answer six questions about yourself. Country, city, what you do, your currency, who your clients usually are, where approval emails should go.
- Approve your negotiating floor. Daiko researches local rates, the laws that protect freelancers where you are, and the terms your field should not give up. You correct the numbers until they are truly yours, then approve. Nothing can be sent before this step is finished.
- Watch the demo (optional). Daiko plays both sides of a two-round negotiation with your real numbers, writes it into the sheet, and stops at the approval step — without emailing anyone.
The screen everybody asks about
"Google hasn't verified this app." You will see this, and it is normal. Google shows it for every Apps Script that is not published in its Marketplace — including ones you write yourself. You are running the script inside your own account, on your own data, and Google wants you to confirm you trust it. Click Advanced, then Go to Daiko Negotiator (unsafe), then read the permission list and click Allow. The install guide has screenshots of every click.
What each permission is for
| Google asks for | Daiko uses it to |
|---|---|
| See, edit, create and delete this spreadsheet | Store your settings, deals and message log |
| Read, compose and send email | Read client enquiries and reply to them |
| See and download files you open with this app | Save attachments a client sends you |
| Connect to an external service | Reach Google's AI directly, with your own key |
| Display and run third-party web content | Show the setup sidebar |
| Run when you are not present | Check your email every 15 minutes |
There is no "send data to the developer" permission, because there is no such feature. On the Lifetime plan the only outbound request the script can make is to Google's own API.
Requirements
- A Google account — personal, or a Workspace account whose administrator permits Apps Script and external requests.
- A desktop browser for the ten minutes of setup. After that, approvals work fine from your phone's email app.
- Gmail as the mailbox your clients write to.
Uninstalling
Delete the spreadsheet and the Drive folder Daiko Attachments. That is all of it — nothing of yours is held anywhere else. You can also revoke the script's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions and delete your Gemini key.
